How to breathe life into a tutorial video.
Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) needed to educate their small and mid-size business owners about the benefits of using their My Energy online account portal. When the job was given to R2i + CatapultWorks, I got to work on this fun project with our interactive designer.
The client asked for a typical tutorial video, which would be about as interesting as a pre-recorded PowerPoint presentation. But we thought it could be more engaging. So, we synthesized a character using a combination of stock video footage and a custom voiceover. This character explained the benefits of using My Energy in the first-person voice and our interactive designer intercut her stock footage with screen shots from an actual customer account (anonymized, of course) to complete the effect.
